The Curé of Ars Award honors those whose lives reflect the qualities of Christian dedication and service that marked the life of St. John Vianney. The award is presented annually to individuals and organizations who are committed to healing those in need of God’s reconciling love, a willingness to contribute their gifts towards pastoral care – especially for the needy and poor – and a commitment to our Church as a primary instrument for the divine-human encounter.
The Future of Our Faith. Men and women continue to courageously answer “yes” to God’s call. These individuals in discernment are committed to delivering the Word of God and to be Christ’s presence in our parishes, ministries and faith communities. Your support will help those studying for the priesthood, permanent diaconate and lay ecclesial ministries.

About our Honorees
This year, we are honored to recognize Rev. Jacob “Fr. Jack” Ledwon with the Curé of Ars Award for more than five decades of faithful priestly ministry. As pastor of St. Joseph University Parish and a dedicated presence in campus ministry at the University at Buffalo, Father Jack has guided generations of parishioners and students with humility, compassion, and a deep commitment to reconciliation and unity. His pastoral care, dedication to the Church, and ability to meet others with mercy and understanding beautifully reflect the spirit of St. John Vianney, patron of parish priests.
Deacon Miguel Santos and his wife, Denise Góñez-Santos, are being honored with the Curé of Ars Award for their shared vocation of faith, service, and dedication to the Church. Through Deacon Miguel’s ministry to the Hispanic community, his outreach to those who are incarcerated, and his commitment to parish and community service, he brings Christ’s presence to those in need. Alongside him, Denise offers vital leadership and spiritual support to deacon wives and diocesan formation, while remaining deeply devoted to parish life. Together, Miguel and Denise beautifully embody the spirit of St. John Vianney through their humility, dedication to the Church, and selfless service to others.
