Let Us Know

We hope you will tell us you have named the Foundation in your will as we would very much like the opportunity to thank you for your generosity.

The Official Bequest language for the Foundation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo, Inc. is:
“I (name) of (City, State and Zip) give, devise and bequeath to the Foundation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo (Written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property) for its restricted use and purpose.”

What can I give?

Whatever you give, your thought to support the Foundation will be appreciated. Here are some choices:

Gifts of Cash
This of course is the simplest way to give. But, you can only deduct a cash gift in the year in which you contribute it.

Gifts of Stock
The best stocks to donate are those that have increased greatly in value, especially those producing a low yield.

Gifts of Life Insurance
You can either give the policy, or simply name the Foundation as the beneficiary.

Gifts of Retirement Plan Assets
You can protect your retirement plan assets from being eaten away by taxes at your death through a carefully planned charitable gift.

Gifts of Real Estate
Deduct the fair market value of your gift, avoid all capital gains taxes and remove that asset from your
taxable estate. You can even transfer the deed of your home to our organization now and keep the right to use the property for your and your spouse’s lifetime.

Ways I can give

Here are some of the Choices you have in giving. This is a small sampling of the many available opportunities.

Bequest
One of the simplest ways to remember those you care about most, you simply name us in your will.

Charitable Gift Annuity
This is a simple contract between you and the Diocesan Foundation in which you transfer assets and it pays one or two annuitants for life.

Retained Life Estate
This enables you to leave your home to our organization even while you are still living in it, and even if you want your spouse or other survivor to live there for life.

Wealth Replacement Trust
If you want to make a sizable contribution now, but don’t want to reduce your estate, purchase life insurance that will restore the after tax inheritance for your heirs.

Charitable Remainder Trust
In the right circumstances, this option can increase your income, reduce your taxes, unlock appreciated investments and rid you of investment worries. All while providing extremely important support for our mission.

Charitable Lead Trust
If you want to provide an inheritance for your children, but would also like to make a significant charitable gift, this is a great option. Your generosity provides an income to us for a stated number of years, after which the trust assets are then distributed to your heirs.
